Job Description: Truck Dispatcher Position Title: Logistics Coordinator Department: Logistics & Transportation Reports To: Operations Manager. Employment Type: Full-time, 23:00—07:30 USA EST time. Position Summary: The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and managing the night operations of trucking logistics to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of goods. This role requires exceptional organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will maintain positive relationships with drivers, customers, and other team members to ensure seamless transportation operations. Key Responsibilities:
- Assign drivers and vehicles to specific routes based on customer requirements, deadlines, and vehicle availability.
- Provide drivers with detailed instructions, schedules, and necessary documentation.
- Optimize load distribution and route planning to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
- Ensure compliance with legal weight limits, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Serve as the main point of contact for drivers, addressing inquiries, updates, and challenges.
- Communicate with customers to provide delivery updates, resolve issues, and ensure satisfaction.
- Use GPS and tracking systems to monitor vehicle locations and ensure on-time deliveries.
- Anticipate potential delays (e.g., traffic, weather) and proactively adjust schedules as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of driver logs, schedules, and delivery documentation.
- Ensure adherence to transportation laws, safety standards, and company protocols.
- Handle emergencies, breakdowns, or route changes effectively to minimize disruptions.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to address vehicle issues promptly.
Qualifications: Experience:
- 2−3 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or dispatching (preferred).
- Knowledge of trucking regulations and industry standards is a plus.
Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Proficiency in dispatch software, GPS systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work well under pressure and solve problems quickly.
Other Requirements:
- Knowledge of federal and state transportation regulations (e.g., DOT compliance).
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends, if needed
- Ability to cover 5−7 trucks per day
